Urban unemployment

Migration to cities in search of employment is not new. People go to cities in search of better employment , but the unemployment rate of cities is higher than that of villages. If we talk about Share, then it is about 8 percent while in villages it is around 6 percent.

Government side

Due to the government's practices, where many people have to lose their jobs, the opposition also does not stop making fun of unemployment. The previous governments, the present government, the opposition and all do not take any concrete steps but just throw their blame on each other.

Definition of unemployment

Despite the country's workforce, they do not get work at prevailing wages is the exact definition of unemployment. Unemployment rate is increasing day by day due to non-availability of operational wages to the mentally and physically qualified workforce. People are going through mental torture. However, this definition has been termed as "involuntary unemployment" by Professor J.M. Keynes.

There are many forms of unemployment: -

(1) Active unemployment: - It depends on economic boom or fall.

(2) Weather-based: - It is unemployment generated mainly in the agricultural sector. No special weather work or more work and no work in a few months.

(3) Open state unemployment: - Despite the abundance of manpower, no labour is available. Such unemployment is mainly among educated people.

Schemes: -

The schemes being run to remove unemployment also do not appear to be implemented. The situation in some states is worse. Such as Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha. More recently, the Prime Minister Unemployment Allowance has been introduced. Even the benefits of these allowances can be called transient. Prime Minister Mudra Yojana is also proving to be inadequate to provide livelihood to the industries.

Other major causes of unemployment: -

(1) Changes in social structure after industrial revolution. (2) The education system should be based on the environment of Western countries. (3) Massive increase in population. (4) Slow process of industrialization. (5) Backwardness of agriculture. (6) Shortage of skilled and trained.

Consequences

Unemployment is like a stigma for any country. Disappointment is evident on the faces of young men wandering in search of employment with degrees. The loss of manpower due to unemployment and stunting of economic development results in a major problem.
